Mike Meier

Juris Doctor (1993) & Master of Laws with distinction (1997), Georgetown University; Master's Degree in Political Science (1988), based on studies at the University of Berlin (Germany), Yale Law School, and the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). He has worked for the Argentine Government (Advisory Council to President Raul Alfonsin 1987-1988), the German Chamber of Commerce in Japan, Osaka (1989-1990), and Hewlett Packard Company (1996-2000). Since 1995, with Professor John Schmertz of Georgetown University Law Center, he has been publishing 'International Law Update,' a monthly report on international law, available on WESTLAW and LEXIS/NEXIS. See www.internationallawupdate.com. Member of the New York, District of Columbia, Virginia and Maryland Bars, and admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court. His most recent book is 'Business Chance USA' -- how to establish and run a business in the United States of America (TIA Publishers, Germany 1999). Fluent in German and Spanish. He frequently teaches courses on U.S. law and corporate matters for the German-American business organization USAforum (www.usaforum.de). From May 2003 through March 2004, he served as a Legal Member on the District of Columbia Board of Appeals and Review. Mike Meier is on the Attorney List of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, and member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA), as well as of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).

Matthew Joseph

Juris Doctor (2006), Loyola University New Orleans School of Law; B.A. English and Theology cum laude (2001), Boston College. Mr. Joseph has gained work experience as a Research Assistant for the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Torture at the Boltzmann Institute of Human Rights, Vienna, Austria; and at the Capital Area Immigrants' Rights Coalition (CAIR). Previously, he worked as an student immigration attorney at the Loyola University Law Clinic. He is admitted to the New York State Bar.

Marcus C. Ehrhart

After studies of law at the University of Munich, Mr. Ehrhart was admitted as an attorney in 1978. He is also licensed as a Foreign Legal Consultant in New York. Mr. Ehrhart has extensive experience in the international business area, including company law, international contract law, competition law, trade law, and investment issues. Mr. Ehrhart has work experience in the United States, France and Denmark, and speaks fluent French and English. Member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Germany, as well as the Berlin Association of Merchants and Entrepreneurs.

Dr. Werner J. Haas

Juris Doctor, University of Bern, Switzerland, 1972. Admitted to practice law in Switzerland and as Foreign Legal Consultant on Hawaii. Dr. Haas has 30 years of experience in the international business law area, particularly international taxation and asset protection. Member of the International Bar Association (IBA) and the Hawaii State Bar Association. Dr. Haas is the President of the Swiss Chamber of Commerce in Hawaii.

Terik Hashmi (Of Counsel)

Mr. Hashmi attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Diplomacy and Foreign Affairs. He attended Law School at the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctorate Degree, and furthered his education at the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, in Sacramento, California, where earned his Master's of Law Degree (LL.M.) in Transnational Business Practice. Mr. Hashmi is an experienced trial attorney, having conducted more than 300 trials in the past 13 years. In 2005, he represented a defendant in extradition defense proceedings in Florida federal court. Also in 2005, he successfully represented a client in an asset seizure matter against the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Department. Most recently, he represented a criminal defendant in federal court in North Carolina. Mr. Hashmi is also an experienced appellate attorney, having presented about 20 cases before federal Courts of Appeals. He is a member of the Ohio state bar.

Dr. Bernard O. Otremba-Blanc (Of Counsel)

Dr. Otremba-Blanc focuses on business start-ups and turn-arounds. His industry experience ranges from computer graphics to engineering, construction, aviation and hospitality. He has earned several prestigious awards, including the Blue Chip Enterprise Award from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C.; the Business Ethics Award and the City of Phoenix Award, among others. He has also received numerous citations from the Governor of Arizona; the City of Phoenix; the German State of Baden-Wrttemberg; the German Free State of Saxony; the Arizona Department of Commerce; Arizona State University; the City of Delicias, Chihuahua, Mexico; Rotary International and many other organizations for his international activities and achievements. He has been listed in several editions of 'Who's Who in the East,' 'Who's Who in the West' and 'Who's Who in America.' Dr. Otremba-Blanc was a founding member of the Arizona Chapter of the German American Chamber of Commerce and served on the Board of Directors from 1992 to 1999. Presently, he is the Director of the Arizona Chapter of the American Council on Germany and serves on the Advisory Board of Arizona State University's 'Barrett Honors College Dean's Council.' In March of 2002, the President of Germany bestowed upon Dr. Otremba-Blanc the Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany (Bundesverdienstkreuz der Bundesrepublik Deutschland), for his endeavors in fostering and sustaining German American relations. On August 1, 2002, Dr. Otremba-Blanc was appointed Honorary Consul of Germany.
